Change is coming once again to Virgin River as the series prepares for its eighth season. Netflix confirmed that Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley will not be part of the next chapter.
Grazzini’s Mike Valenzuela had become increasingly central in recent seasons, especially through his relationship storyline and his partnership with Brie. His Season 7 ending, however, offered a satisfying resolution as he reunited with Victoria, giving the character a sense of closure.
Hammersley’s Charmaine was one of the show’s earliest sources of drama, particularly through her complicated connection with Jack. After several seasons of reduced screen time, she appeared only briefly in Season 7.
According to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, the decision reflects the need to keep the show evolving while ensuring the remaining characters continue driving strong storylines—though future returns are still possible.
