With the way FBI: International season 4 ended, it is clear that there were intentions to keep the story going. So, what could have been had FBI: International season 5 happened? We take a look at Smitty’s potential storyline.
Throughout season 4, Smitty’s personal life got more development. This certainly opened the door for plenty of hope for the future, as it’s clear that this was supposed to be a continued storyline in the fifth season. On top of that, we got to see her work undercover, which could have teased things to come in her career.
Smitty could have found a partner in FBI: International season 5
With the focus throughout FBI: International season 4 being on Smitty’s personal life and realization of her sexuality, it’s clear that this was going to be the focus in season 5. We would have likely seen her focus on finding someone to connect with.
Up to this point, she’s been focused on her career, but all of her personal dreams and hopes have been pushed to one side. In the fourth season, we saw her get asked out by a female cop at the end of a case, and then she started to form a connection with a mark while working undercover. This opened Smitty’s wish to finally find a connection with someone during FBI: International season 5.
We’ve already seen that Wes and Vo are on dating apps, but what about Smitty? Would she go on the dating apps, or would she consider forming a connection with someone in person? I would love to have seen her reconnect with the cop that asked her out on a date, making it clear that she is now interested.
Smitty could advance in her career in FBI: International season 5
Throughout the fourth season, Smitty made it clear that she wasn’t interested in playing Wes’s games when it came to solving crimes. She wasn’t going to stand behind Wes and Tyler acting like they were above the law, and that could have come up throughout FBI: International season 5.
This could have meant we’d see a change in Smitty’s career. Is it possible that she could have asked to switch out with another Europol agent? This could have certainly been the case if Tyler ended up coming into the team as either Vo or Raines left for their promotions. However, she could also want to stick around with the team to make sure she could keep Wes and Tyler in place, knowing how badly it could be with another Europol agent taking over.
