CBS fans have been enjoying watching both Fire Country and Tracker on the network, and now, it appears hopes for a crossover between the two shows could be in the works–at least, if the stars have anything to say about it. Fire Country has been a popular show on the network since 2022, and has attracted star power with guest stars, which recently included Jelly Roll.
If you’re a die-hard CBS fan, you’ve probably imagined what would happen if two of your favorite shows crossed paths. Picture this: the gritty wildfires of Fire Country and the suspenseful searches in Tracker colliding in one explosive episode. Well, guess what? Max Thieriot, star and co-creator of Fire Country, just dropped some interesting hints that this idea might not be so far-fetched after all. Let’s break down the exciting possibility of this crossover, what Max had to say, and why this move could make CBS history. Fire Country has become a powerhouse drama. With emotionally complex characters, high-stakes rescues, and a backdrop of raging California wildfires, it’s no surprise viewers are hooked. Max Thieriot not only stars as Bode Donovan, the rugged firefighter with a troubled past, but he’s also one of the brains behind the show.
Meanwhile, Tracker has been heating up screens in its own right. Based on Jeffery Deaver’s “The Never Game,” the show follows Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist and reward-seeker, who uses his skills to locate missing people. Justin Hartley leads the charge in this moody, action-packed drama.
During a recent interview, Max Thieriot opened up about his dream of expanding the Fire Country universe. And when asked about a potential crossover with Tracker? Let’s just say, he didn’t exactly say no. He teased that CBS has “big plans,” and hinted that collaborations could be “on the table.” That’s enough to make any fan start spinning wild theories. Sure, one’s about putting out fires and the other’s about tracking down people—but both series share intense drama, survival themes, and heart-pounding action. It wouldn’t take much to imagine Colter Shaw stumbling upon a case in the middle of a wildfire-ravaged zone where Bode and his crew are working.
Tracker has also been immensely popular since its 2024 debut, despite the show having an unexplained absence for one of its stars recently, and some scary real-life filming locations. However, despite the two being popular, they haven’t crossed over. In a new interview with Us Weekly though, Fire Country’s Max Thieriot shared that he would be game for it, springing hew hope amongst fans that it would be possible. “For sure. That could be fun. We haven’t had any of those conversations, but I get that,” he told the publication.
“They’re not far from us [on CBS], so it wouldn’t be too hard to do logistically in person.” he added. “But there’s a lot of people way above my pay grade that make a lot of those decisions. But I think it would be fun.” Fire Country follows Thieriot’s character Bode, who gets a chance to shorten a prison sentence by volunteering for the California Conservation Camp Program. Tracker, meanwhile, follows Justin Hartley’s Colter character, a survivalist who travels the country helping people and law enforcement as they tackle a variety of mysteries.
