Martin Henderson Steps Behind the Camera Again as Virgin River Season 8 Begins Filming md14

Virgin River Season 8 has officially entered production—and fans of Jack Sheridan have an extra reason to celebrate.

Alongside returning as one of the show’s central stars, Martin Henderson is once again directing an episode this season after earning praise for his earlier work behind the camera in Season 6. Filming began April 22 in Vancouver and will continue through August as the cast reunites for another emotional chapter.

Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith confirmed that Season 8 will open with a four-month time jump following the dramatic hospital storyline involving Mel and Jack’s newborn. Their journey as first-time parents facing serious medical challenges is expected to anchor the season’s central themes of sacrifice and rebirth.

Elsewhere in town, Clay’s search for his sister continues, Brady’s fate remains uncertain, and new relationships may begin to form.

With Henderson directing once again, Season 8 is already shaping up to be one of the show’s most personal installments yet.
