Virgin River is moving forward with Season 8—but not without saying goodbye to several familiar faces.
As filming officially begins in Vancouver, Netflix’s longest-running drama is entering a transitional chapter. Marco Grazzini, Sara Canning, and Lauren Hammersley will not return, marking the end of storylines that have shaped the series since its earlier seasons.
At the same time, new energy is arriving in town. Austin Nichols’ Dr. Eli will appear more frequently, while Clay’s search for his sister introduces a brand-new character into the mix. Brie will also play a key role in that storyline moving forward.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith remains at the helm, ensuring continuity as the series explores themes of sacrifice and renewal in its eighth season.
With filming set to continue through August, Season 8 is already signaling both endings and beginnings for Virgin River fans.
