Farewell to Virgin River: Emotional Exit Marks the End of a Fan-Loved Era md14

Virgin River Season 8 officially begins filming April 22—and Martin Henderson is once again expanding his role behind the scenes. The actor, who plays Jack Sheridan, is set to direct another episode following his previous work on Season 6.

Joining Henderson are returning directors Audrey Cummings and Shannon Kohli, both longtime collaborators on the series. Production is expected to run through August 10, with cross-boarding techniques helping streamline filming across multiple episodes.

Season 8 will introduce a four-month time jump, allowing the story to move beyond the immediate aftermath of Mel and Jack’s baby’s surgery and Brady’s motorcycle crash.

The season will also feature fewer recurring characters, with departures confirmed for Mike, Veronica, Charmaine, and Marley.

Meanwhile, Austin Nichols returns as Dr. Eli with an expanded presence, bringing new emotional stakes as Mel and Jack face the realities of parenthood in challenging circumstances.
