Wil Wheaton is revisiting one of the most unforgettable moments in The Big Bang Theory history — and it involves a galaxy far, far away.
The actor, who famously played Sheldon Cooper’s longtime rival on the hit CBS sitcom, recently shared a nostalgic throwback from the Season 11 finale, where Star Wars icon Mark Hamill officiated Sheldon and Amy’s wedding. Posting behind-the-scenes photos from the set, Wheaton praised Hamill as “one of the kindest people you will ever meet.”
“@markhamill is exactly who you hope he will be,” Wheaton wrote on Instagram. “He made time for everyone, and was just the most lovely man.”
According to Wheaton, the atmosphere backstage was electric the moment Hamill arrived on Stage 25. Cast and crew members reportedly “geeked out” seeing the legendary Luke Skywalker actor in person, comparing the excitement to Stan Lee’s memorable visit to the set of Eureka.
The appearance became one of the sitcom’s most beloved celebrity cameos, giving fans a perfect blend of Big Bang Theory humor and pop-culture history.
Wheaton’s own role on the show became iconic over the years. Introduced as Sheldon’s “archenemy,” the feud stemmed from a fictional incident where Wheaton failed to appear at a 1995 Star Trek convention, devastating a teenage Sheldon.
Outside the sitcom, Wheaton remains beloved for playing Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, while Hamill continues to be celebrated worldwide for his legendary performances as Luke Skywalker and the voice of the Joker.
