Virgin River fans are preparing for a difficult goodbye. Marco Grazzini, who has portrayed Mike Valenzuela for years on the Netflix hit, is officially exiting the series before Season 8 begins.
Mike became a familiar part of the show after debuting in Season 2 as Jack’s Marine friend. Across six seasons, the character developed close ties to many of Virgin River’s biggest storylines, particularly his complicated relationship with Brie.
Following the announcement, Marco thanked fans on Instagram and received emotional responses from cast members including Alexandra Breckenridge, Ben Hollingsworth, and Kai Bradbury.
The actor later explained that leaving a long-running show is a normal part of television and described himself as excited for a “new chapter” professionally.
Fortunately for fans, the door may still remain open. Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith revealed he would love to bring Mike back someday if the right creative opportunity appears.
For now, though, Virgin River viewers are facing one of the show’s biggest cast changes in years.
