Production on Virgin River Season 8 is officially underway in Vancouver, and the upcoming season is already bringing big changes to the town fans love.
Filming kicked off April 22 and will continue through August, with showrunner Patrick Sean Smith returning to guide the next phase of Netflix’s longest-running scripted drama. Martin Henderson is also returning to the director’s chair for an upcoming episode, marking his second time directing the series.
However, Season 8 won’t look exactly the same. Marco Grazzini, Sara Canning, and Lauren Hammersley have all exited the show, signaling a shift in focus as new storylines begin to take shape.
Meanwhile, Austin Nichols’ Dr. Eli is returning in a larger recurring role, and Clay’s search for his long-lost sister will continue with help from Brie.
With departures, time jumps, and emotional new arcs ahead, Season 8 is clearly setting the stage for a bold new era in Virgin River.
