Virgin River is preparing for another major cast change. Netflix has confirmed that Marco Grazzini and Lauren Hammersley will not return for Season 8 of the long-running romantic drama.
Grazzini, who played police officer Mike Valenzuela, appeared across five seasons and became a series regular in recent years. In Season 7, his character joined Brie on a search connected to Charmaine’s disappearance, before ending the season reconnecting with Victoria, hinting at a quieter new chapter for Mike.
Meanwhile, Lauren Hammersley, who portrayed Charmaine since the show’s 2019 debut, gradually reduced her presence after Season 4 and appeared only briefly in the latest installment.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith explained that the departures reflect the series’ effort to keep stories moving forward while introducing fresh characters. However, he emphasized that both Mike and Charmaine could still return in the future if the story calls for it.
