Gordon Ramsay’s New Show Kicks Off with a Surprise Rhode Island Stop

A new Fox reality series starring chef Gordon Ramsay, who caused a stir in April when he filmed at Narragansett’s Crazy Burger Cafe & Juice Bar, premieres on May 21.

“Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service” has the celebrity chef sneaking into struggling restaurants under cover of darkness with the help of an insider to diagnose the restaurant’s problems, and then fix them, according to Fox publicists. The one-hour show airs on Fox Wednesday nights at 9 p.m., following “Master Chef: Dynamic Duos,” a returning Gordon Ramsay series that also premieres for the season on May 21.

Fox has not divulged when Crazy Burger will be on the show − or even whether the restaurant made the cut. Crazy Burger owner Michael Maxon has declined to discuss the show with The Providence Journal.Fox described the series in a news release: “Restaurateurs who are looking for a quick fix or social media glow-up are in for the surprise of their lives when famed culinary titan Gordon Ramsay trades his signature chef knives for a state-of-the-art surveillance vehicle and cutting-edge spyware in FOX’s all-new unscripted series, ‘Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service.’ “

The same week that Ramsay was spotted at Crazy Burger, an unusual gray van, marked “JACK HVAC,” was seen circling the Boon Street neighborhood, surveilling the restaurant.
