After Young Sheldon, Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan reunite on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Sheldon’s 17-year stint on TV ended when his prequel series wrapped up in May of this year. Despite this, the story of the Cooper family in Texas will continue via the latest expansion series from The Big Bang Theory franchise. Set to premiere this fall on CBS, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will tackle its lead characters’ new life as young parents to Baby Cece. Aside from that, Georgie’s personal arc will include having to look after his sister and mother as they deal with the death of George.
A new TikTok video from Revord features the Missy actor reunited with her on-screen brother on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Watch the video below:
The clip features the actor partaking in the viral Mamushi dance challenge. In the comment section, meanwhile, Iain Armitage, who played Sheldon in Young Sheldon, applauds them for their moves.
Why Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Had To Expand Missy’s Role
Missy Will Now Be A Recurring Guest Star In The Young Sheldon Sequel.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage‘s story may just be a continuation of Young Sheldon, but there are certain changes in the new show. Unlike its predecessor, it will be a multi-cam show, which means it will be filmed in front of a live audience and will feature canned laughter. Secondly, its story focus will shift to Mandy’s family, the McAllisters, as the couple lives with them instead of the Coopers. Georgie’s family will have limited involvement in the new sitcom, which is a divisive decision, but recently, that has changed for Missy.
CBS has yet to reveal the reason for this change, but considering the popularity of Revord’s character, not to mention the story potential that she brings, it makes sense that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage wants to feature more of her.
While Mary and Meemaw are only supposed to appear in the pilot, Georgie’s sister now has an expanded role instead of only being in episode 2. CBS has yet to reveal the reason for this change, but considering the popularity of Revord’s character, not to mention the story potential that she brings, it makes sense that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage wants to feature more of her. Missy’s main story in the Young Sheldon sequel will be centered on her evolving relationship with Georgie. It will be the new dad’s responsibility to look after his rebellious sister.
CBS is changing Missy’s future after Young Sheldon, and it’s proof that pulling the plug on the beloved family comedy was the wrong move.
Ideally, Missy would be a series regular in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. There’s really no drawback to featuring more of her, considering Revord’s popularity in the franchise. That said, seeing her back, even in a recurring guest role, is better than nothing, especially after the Young Sheldon finale failed to give her a satisfying ending.
