Young Sheldon‘s Sheldon and Georgie actors have reunited following the end of the Big Bang Theory prequel series. Iain Armitage paid a visit to meet the new baby of his co-star, Montana Jordan, and naturally channeled his character for the occasion.
On Instagram, Armitage shared a video of himself holding Jordan’s newborn daughter. The video sees Armitage seeing the “Soft Kitty” song to the girl, referencing how the song was featured in The Big Bang Theory before its origins were revealed in Young Sheldon. Armitage also shared a touching caption about meeting his “niece” for the first time.
Emily Osment says she’s trying to get older Georgie Cooper actor Jerry O’Connell involved with Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
“I finally got to meet my brand new niece!” Armitage glowed. “I spent time with Montana and Jenna’s sweet baby and she’s beautiful! I’m not at all biased but she’s the smartest, sweetest, most adorable human and I’m proud to be her Uncle Iain. Montana is getting ready to start filming his new show and I couldn’t be happier for him and his beautiful family.”

The actor added, “Note- I don’t usually sing ‘Soft Kitty’ to babies but I’m learning that they genuinely seem to like it. Have you soothed your baby with this song?! Congratulations, Montana and Jenna and welcome to the world, Emma Rae Jordan! You are very, very loved!”
Ahead of their self-titled spinoff, here’s a look back at the most memorable Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister episodes on Young Sheldon.
Jordan’s character will be tackling fatherhood as well in the new series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. The spinoff will follow Jordan’s Georgie and Emily Osment’s Mandy as they being their lives as a new family. It will feel like a very different series, even with some returning characters, as the Cooper family will mostly have a much smaller presence. There will be special appearances from them, however, as it’s been confirmed that Zoe Perry, Annie Potts, and Raegan Revord will all respectively guest star as Mary, Meemaw, and Missy.
Will Iain Armitage Return as Sheldon Cooper?
With Armitage, a return is not officially confirmed just yet. Given how there are other Cooper family members coming back, it would seem likely that Sheldon will have an appearance at some point. His inclusion hasn’t been confirmed by anyone involved with the series at this time, though Armitage has previously said he’d be happy to return if he were to get the call to reprise his role as Sheldon.
“If I got a call to go back, that’d be so much fun. I’d be honored to,” Armitage told TVLine. “I’m also just excited to get to sit back on my couch with some popcorn and watch their show because they’re so good. But I could totally see myself getting in the khakis again, putting on the old penny loafers and bow tie, and going back out on the job.”
