Young Sheldon Stars Tease Seeing More Of Mandy’s Family In Upcoming Spinoff
Young Sheldon stars Montana Jordan and Emily Osment reveal that the forthcoming spinoff of the sitcom will feature more of Mandy’s family.
Two Young Sheldon stars hint at more screen time for Mandy’s family in the upcoming Georgie and Mandy spinoff. An offshoot of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon chronicles the childhood of Sheldon Cooper in the fictional Medford, Texas. After a successful run of 6 seasons, CBS announced in late 2023 that Young Sheldon season 7 was going to conclude the series. Before its end, another spinoff was announced that will focus on Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister.
Now, following the announcement of the forthcoming Young Sheldon spinoff, Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, both of whom play Georgie and Mandy respectively, revealed in an interview with TVLine that the new show will feature more of Mandy’s family. Read their full quotes below:
Jordan : Yeah, I would love that. I was telling Emily that I had a little thought about a storyline for meemaw because we haven’t said anything about her grandma. There might be stuff about her in the new show.
Osment : You’ll get to meet more of Mandy’s family. She has a brother that we don’t spend any time with. We don’t know where he is. I think there’s an opportunity for more McAllister to make themselves be known.

The Cooper Family Will Continue To Have New Stories Without Sheldon
Following the conclusion of the original series in 2019, Young Sheldon went on to further expand the Big Bang Theory universe. Additionally, the show also introduced new beloved characters like Sheldon’s older brother Georgie and his wife Mandy, both of whom have also become important fixtures of the franchise.
Shortly after the announcement that both characters would be getting their own dedicated show, Emily Osment revealed that while she has yet to see the script for the new show, it’s been confirmed that the forthcoming spinoff is scheduled to begin production in July 2024.
The new show’s format will be different from that of the previous installments. The spinoff will be shot in a single camera format instead of multi-cam. This will differentiate it from the traditional sitcom style. While there’s still a lot unknown about this new show, it is clear that Georgie and Mandy are undoubtedly two of the most beloved characters from Young Sheldon. With Sheldon departing Texas, the new spinoff will offer an opportunity to continue seeing the Cooper family without the child prodigy.
