Reagan Revord is heading back to Medford, Texas. The Young Sheldon actor has shared a first look at her return as Missy Cooper in the upcoming sequel spinoff series, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
Revord’s first look came in the form of a short video shared on her personal Instagram account. In the video, the actor is seen in front of the sound stage where the cast and crew of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage are filming the series. The caption reads, “Medford 📍,” referring to the Texas town where both Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy take place. A snippet from the song “She’s Back” by Sexyy Red played over the top of the otherwise silent video.
Revord’s return as Missy in Georgie & Mandy was first reported in July 2024, with executive producer Steve Molaro revealing that the actor would appear in the show’s second episode. While it’s currently unknown how Missy will factor into the episode, Steve Holland, another executive producer on the show, teased earlier this month that the Missy that appears on Georgie & Mandy will be different from the one that the Young Sheldon fanbase is used to.
“We’re going to see a slightly different Missy,” Holland said. “She’s gone through the loss of her dad and she’s acting out. She’s [becoming] rebellious.” As for how Missy’s rebellious ways will impact Georgie, Holland added, “He’s trying to balance being a husband and a father and also being a caretaker to his sister, who’s having some struggles.”
Two More Young Sheldon Regulars Confirmed for Spinoff Appearances
In addition to Revord, two more actors who were series regulars on Young Sheldon are set to make guest appearances in Georgie & Mandy: Zoe Perry as Georgie’s mother Mary Cooper, and Annie Potts as his “Meemaw”. Both are set to appear in the first episode of the series. They will be joined by the main cast of Georgie & Mandy, which includes Montana Jordan as Georgie Cooper, Emily Osment as Mandy McAllister, Will Sasso as Jim McAllister, and Rachel Bay Jones as Audrey McAllister, all of whom originated their respective roles on Young Sheldon.
Could Sheldon Cooper Appear in Georgie & Mandy?
With almost all the Young Sheldon cast confirmed to appear in Georgie & Mandy, the question on every fan’s mind now is whether Iain Armitage’s Sheldon Cooper will return to Medford at some point during the show’s first season to visit his family. While speaking with ET in July 2024, Armitage noted that the spinoff doesn’t “even need” an appearance from Sheldon to succeed, although he would certainly return if he was asked.
“Always. They are incredible,” Armitage said. “At the end of the day, Montana is such a good guy — I love him to death. As you got to see, polite as heck. He’s awesome. And then miss Emily Osment, so talented, gorgeous, amazing, incredible, smart, wonderful. I cannot wait to see what they do on their show.”
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is currently slated to premiere on Oct. 17, 2024, on CBS.
