‘Young Sheldon’ Star Ian Armitage Just Revealed a Hidden Talent—And It’s Not What You’d Expect

Iain Armitage is a young man of many talents!

The Young Sheldon alum, 17, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a fun video of himself flying on the trapeze. The actor, who played the role of child prodigy Sheldon Cooper for seven seasons on the hit CBS series, can be seen jumping from an elevated pedestal, letting go, and flipping over in the air before grabbing hold of his partner.

Several people in the facility can be heard clapping and cheering on Armitage as he falls to the protective netting below.

“I would happily do this all day, every day- thank you to my friend at @lasvegascircuscenter !” the young actor captioned the video.

Living his post-Sheldon life has been exciting for Armitage, who has used the time to tackle new hobbies and pursuits. In addition to the trapeze, he enjoys heading up into the air in another way.

“I just got my pilot’s license, or my student pilot’s license,” he told PEOPLE last year. “I hopefully will get my private [pilot ’s license] when I’m 17. And I’ve been having a bunch of fun flying while I’m here in L.A.”

Despite his new pursuits, Armitage made it clear that all those things don’t mean he won’t be back on TV screens soon.

“I’m definitely doing auditions and stuff,” he noted.

Still, he has shared that he misses his former cast and crewmates. The Warner Bros Studio Tour Department even sent him a package that was filled with handwritten notes and artwork last month.

What Acting Job Will Iain Armitage Do Next?

Back in June, it was announced that Armitage will head to the big screen opposite Martin Freeman in The Adam Trials, a psychological thriller with a sci-fi twist, according to Deadline. Directed by Ben Ketai, the film will tell the story of two parents who will do anything to save the life of their terminally ill son, even if it means employing experimental nanotechnology that starts to show signs of success but at a dark cost, the piece continued.

“This movie has been a dream of mine for quite some time now, as has the opportunity to work with Martin again,” Ketai, who worked with him on the Crackle series StartUp, told Deadline. “Now with Iain’s talent in the mix, I am counting the seconds until we start rolling.”
