Iain Armitage Got Candid About ‘Young Sheldon’ Ending in May 2024
Armitage shared his thoughts about Young Sheldon coming to an end after its 7th season in a May 2024 interview with Entertainment Tonight. He said starring in the series, which tells the story of Big Bang Theory character, Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) childhood, was “an incredible seven years of filming.” He also said he and his castmates, which include Annie Potts, Lance Barber, Zoe Perry, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Emily Osment, “all love working on this show so much.” In addition, the actor said while he was “sad” about the show ending, “it’s hard to cry for too long when you realize I’m crying at Warner Brothers [Studios],” where the show was filmed.
In addition, Armitage shared whether he’d ever appear as Sheldon in the Young Sheldon spinoff series, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, starring Jordan and Osment as the titular characters. He said while the idea is “really exciting,” he wasn’t sure “if Sheldon’s going to pop up” on the show, which premiered in October 2024. He suggested he’d be interested in playing Sheldon for a holiday episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
“It would be really cool if I could take a visit for the holidays,” said Armitage to the publication.
