Young Sheldon spinoff show to recast fan favourite character in controversial decision

A lot of the original cast of Young Sheldon will be returning for the spinoff show, such as nosy neighbour Brenda and the core Sheldon family. However, not everyone has made the cut, as Mandy’s younger brother Connor has been recast for the spinoff show.

In the original Young Sheldon, Connor was played by actor Joseph Appollinio however he’s been booted out of the spinoff show, and Dougie Baldwin will now be replacing him.

During Young Sheldon, we didn’t get to see Connor a lot, but since the spinoff show, Georgie and Mady’s First Marriage will focus on her family a lot more it makes sense he’ll have a bigger role. Dougie Baldwin has also worked with Chuck Lorre before in his show Disjointed, so it sounds like they have lots of experience working together.

According to TVLine, Connor is described as: “A talented oddball with musical prowess who still lives with his parents. He is coddled by his mother, Audrey, and hassled by his father, Jim, Connor doesn’t fit in — even in his own family.” It sounds like we’ll be seeing a lot moe of Connor in the spinoff, with some fans speculating he’ll be playing the classic annoying little brother role just like Sheldon did.

Looks like we’ll have to wait until the spinoff releases later this year to see what kind of role he plays, and I can’t wait!
