The upcoming series is likely to follow its predecessor’s path of success.
The Big Bang Theory franchise’s new installment and Young Sheldon ’s spinoff titled Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is still months away from hitting the screens, but a possible return of one of the original show’s actors is what will surely give an incentive to numerous fans to arm themselves with patience.
Set around a month after Sheldon’s departure for California, the brand new show will shift its focus and take a closer look at the character’s older brother Georgie and his new family with wife Mandy.
Though there haven’t been many revelations about the potential story so far, the series’s lead actress teased a highly anticipated comeback to the story and, should it indeed happen, the spinoff will get very lucky to follow Young Sheldon’s successful formula.
Ahead of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s production start and premiere later this year, Mandy’s actress Emily Osment opened up about her personal wishes for the upcoming series which she’s trying to pitch to the show’s creators.
Who Will Be the Narrator in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage?
According to Osment, she happens to be neighbors with Jerry O’Connell, who in The Big Bang Theory portrayed older Georgie, and this became some kind of a motivation for the actress to come up with a plan to bring O’Connell back to the production set.
She then revealed that she has no clue yet about whether the creators will want the actor to reprise his role or not, but suggested that “maybe he’ll be the narrator.”
Though Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s production has already started, Osment specified that “we’re still in the process of pre-production” implying that some changes in the script may be made even now.
If Emily Osment’s idea is eventually greenlit by the upcoming spinoff’s creators, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will get higher chances to become yet another TV hit since it will follow Young Sheldon’s suit regarding its structure.
The Big Bang Theory’s prequel came as a radically different thing compared to the original show, getting rid of background laughter and having Sheldon’s original actor Jim Parsons as a narrator for the whole run.
Jerry O’Connell thus may indeed become an amazing addition to the story, recounting it as his memories from years back, something which Young Sheldon’s fans don’t have to get used to.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will air on CBS this fall or later this year.
