Young Sheldon Keeps Failing Missy, Clearly Hasn’t Learned TBBT Lessons
Young Sheldon, a popular TV show that serves as a prequel to the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, follows the life of a young Sheldon Cooper and his family as they navigate life in Texas.
While the show has been successful in its own right, fans are becoming concerned, as it appears that one of the characters on the show, Missy, is once again being failed by the writers.
It’s clear that the showrunners haven’t learned from the mistakes made in TBBT, and fans are asking for this to be addressed.
Missy Cooper is a central recurring character in Young Sheldon, serving as Sheldon’s younger twin sister and a vital member of the Cooper family.
Missy was first introduced in the first season of TBBT and only made a couple of appearances, and was mostly mentioned sporadically throughout the seasons.
However, fans have recently brought a concerning issue to light: despite her importance, Missy is being overlooked, and her storylines are not receiving the attention they deserve.
This is a missed opportunity for the show, as Missy’s story has the potential to add depth and complexity to the series.
By exploring her relationships, interests, and struggles in more detail, Young Sheldon could provide a more well-rounded portrayal of the Cooper family and their dynamic.
While other characters on the show have their own unique storylines, which have been unfolding over time, Missy hasn’t really been given much.
Many fans feel like Missy shouldn’t be put into any stereotypes, as they find her very socially and emotionally intelligent, unlike how Sheldon constantly made her out to be stupid.
Their parents may not be paying much attention to Missy as most of it goes to Sheldon, but that doesn’t mean her character and story shouldn’t be explored more from her perspective.
That said, this is not the first time we’ve seen this happen. In fact, the sitcom’s predecessor, TBBT, has already been accused of using their female characters as mere plot devices to move the story forward.
And now, it appears as if they’re doing the same thing with Missy. Not only that but many fans have previously made it abundantly clear that they would’ve loved to see Missy interacting with the group more or at least appear in more episodes in TBBT.
If Young Sheldon’s creators want to make the show’s fans happy, they should avoid making mistakes of the past and give Missy the attention she deserves.
The character has a lot of potential and could be a major player in the show’s success. By ignoring her storylines and character development, the writers are doing a disservice to both the character as well as the fans.
