Eric Winter had too much fun filming A Taste of Summer — so much that Roselyn Sánchez had to call him out for making everyone laugh.
The Rookie star didn’t hold back, bringing laughs both on and off-screen. But when the fun started overshadowing the romance, his wife had to reel him in.
Eric Winter’s on-set shenanigans had Roselyn Sánchez calling him out
Eric Winter didn’t just act in A Taste of Summer; he turned the set into a comedy club. The Rookie star had the cast and crew cracking up, so much so that his wife and co-star, Roselyn Sánchez, had to rein him in. Apparently, his off-screen antics weren’t just fun and games. Winter said (via Looper),
I like to have fun. She’s so serious … This is a fun movie. I was having a blast. I was making everybody laugh.
But Sánchez saw it differently. A producer even complained that the crew was too loud — Winter was the culprit. The Hallmark set had turned into a stand-up show, and someone had to hit pause.
Filming with your spouse is already a balancing act, and these two were no exception. Winter’s natural charm made him the life of the set, while Sánchez focused on getting the job done. But even she had to admit it was all in good fun.
Despite the playful chaos, the couple loved working together. Their real-life chemistry translated perfectly into A Taste of Summer, a film about a chef competition turning into romance. The only real challenge? Keeping Winter from turning every scene into an improv session.
On-set bickering aside, the experience was a win. They had fun, the audience loved it, and Winter got to live out his Hallmark rom-com dream — with his wife keeping him in check.
Eric Winter teases a game-changing Chenford moment in Season 7
Chenford fans, your patience might finally pay off. Eric Winter teased a game-changing moment between Lucy Chen and Tim Bradford in The Rookie’s upcoming Valentine’s Day episode. He shared (via TV Insider),
These two have never stopped caring about each other. So you put two people in a compromising, weird position, and feelings come out. Maybe a little bit of their thoughts come out…I can tease that you’re going to get a moment where they have to check themselves.
And now, with emotions running high, feelings come out. The couple’s Season 6 breakup left a mark. But Winter made it clear:
They never broke up because they stopped loving each other…They broke up because Tim didn’t feel he was good enough for her.
And I think that’s what the fans have to understand… As a little time has passed, the wound is still there, but it’s healing. There’s a scab for Lucy. She’s trying to make amends with the situation the best she can.
Tim believed he wasn’t good enough for Lucy, but time has passed, and healing has begun. Showrunner Alexi Hawley promised Season 7 would bring back their old dynamic. So, while a full-blown reunion isn’t confirmed, sparks are about to fly.
Buckle up, Chenford shippers — your slow burn is about to heat up.
