📺 CBS Sets a Bold Midseason Schedule
CBS is heading into 2026 with one of its biggest midseason slates in years, highlighted by the debut of Y: Marshals, a new Yellowstone spinoff featuring the return of Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. The network confirmed that the series will premiere on Sunday, March 1, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, immediately after 60 Minutes. New episodes will continue on Sundays before streaming later on Paramount+.
The move marks a shift for fans of Taylor Sheridan’s universe, who are accustomed to watching new shows exclusively on Paramount+. CBS is integrating Y: Marshals into a high-profile Sunday lineup that also includes new episodes of Tracker and Watson in revamped time periods.
🤠 Y: Marshals Leads a New Chapter in the Yellowstone Universe
Y: Marshals expands the Dutton legacy after Yellowstone ended in late 2025. The series follows Kayce as he becomes a U.S. Marshal in Montana, pulling him deeper into dangerous investigations. While Sheridan executive produces, Spencer Hudnut serves as writer and showrunner.
This shift is already sparking discussion. Sheridan’s minimal writing involvement has fans wondering how the new creative voice will shape the next phase of the franchise. Still, CBS expects strong viewership as the Yellowstone fandom eagerly awaits more from its world.
🔎 New CIA Spinoff Headlines February Premieres
Before Y: Marshals arrives, the action begins February 23, when CBS rolls out returning favorites and a new FBI-universe spinoff titled CIA. The series stars Tom Ellis as a fast-talking CIA case officer forced to work with a rule-following FBI agent. The two must investigate threats inside the United States, despite their opposite approaches.
Production has seen changes behind the scenes, including two showrunner swaps and the exits of actor Michael Michele and executive producer Eriq La Salle, which have fueled industry conversations. Still, CBS plans a full midseason push with The Neighborhood, DMV, and FBI also returning that night.
🏆 Survivor 50, Padma Lakshmi’s Culinary Battle, and More
CBS will also mark a major milestone with Survivor 50, premiering with a three-hour event on Wednesday, February 25. Ahead of the launch, viewers will see two weeks of encore episodes featuring iconic castaways.
Then on March 4, Padma Lakshmi joins the schedule with America’s Culinary Cup, a new cooking competition showcasing elite chefs under intense pressure.
Other notable dates include:
-
Golden Globes – January 11
-
Grammy Awards – February 1
CBS’ winter slate signals another aggressive year of franchise building, live competition, and high-stakes storytelling.
