Yellowstone Theory: Is Beth the Death of Rip?
The final season of “Yellowstone” is approaching and only one thing seems certain: at least some of its central characters will not survive. And we don’t mean the almost doomed patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner). While John’s fate appears to have been sealed by Costner’s struggle with the Paramount Network brass, there are plenty of other possible targets among the show’s cast of characters leading to a tragic end.
Some fans are pondering how the show will end the bittersweet romance between feisty star Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and loyal ranch husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser). As any fan knows, Beth has a tendency to get into fights with others in public places. Extrapolating from that, u/TwistedFlame95, posting to the “Yellowstone” subreddit, said they have a theory about how Rip might leave the show — and it could be thanks to a bittersweet plot twist. “When Beth visits Rip in Texas, she might start a bar fight that causes Rip to step in like he always does just so Rip doesn’t leave when the fight is over. Or he ends up met the bigger bear or end up getting a [manslaughter] charge.”
It would be a fitting gesture for a young man who tries his best to care for Beth – and a major consequence for Dutton’s daughter, who violently gets into confrontations with her. He can usually (but not always) handle it himself. However, other fans posting to the subreddit thought Rip would have a different ending.
Fans are pretty sure Rip and Beth will survive Yellowstone
Fans posting to the “Yellowstone” subreddit have conflicting opinions about Rip Wheeler’s possible fate. One fan compared Rip to “The Walking Dead” characters like Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and claimed he would never die on the show. u/threedice joked that Rip might find himself tied to a crime in “The Mayor of Kingstown.” Issues with the plot’s realism may also have kept him alive; As other fans have pointed out, if Rip dies, there’s a good chance that Beth will end up going permanently off track and could cause havoc for her family members, including her adopted adopted brother. estranged from Jamie (Wes Bentley).
But many thought that Rip and Beth would simply ride off into the sunset in the final season for an ending that seemed quite reasonable. After all, Cole Hauser has publicly said he wants to make a Rip and Beth-centric spinoff, and Paramount has certainly shown a willingness to create related prequel shows and sequels. related to the Dutton family. Taylor Sheridan produced a spin-off series set in the present to keep the show’s universe moving forward. Therefore, many fans in this thread predict that Rip and Beth will participate in the upcoming show hosted by Texas. That of course doesn’t guarantee that the characters will survive, but it certainly gives them an advantage. However, as any “Yellowstone” fan knows, those odds can change without notice at any time.
