Yellowstone fans, Carter is coming back!
It was recently announced that Australian actor Finn Little is set to reprise his role as the scrappy, sharp-eyed ranch hand in the highly anticipated Yellowstone spinoff that’ll center around Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. According to Deadline, Finn will be back as a series regular in the yet-to-be-named show which will reunite his beloved character with fellow actors Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser.
For those who’ve been along for the ride since season four and beyond, Carter’s story is one that requires him to grow up fast. When we first meet his character, he’s dealing with the lose of his father to addiction and wandering the halls of a hospital. Beth, who is never really one to show empathy, is moved by Carter’s story and tough upbringing. She saw something in him and so did Rip. What started as a awkward guardianship turned into a makeshift family, complete with hard ranch work, tough love, and a strong bond that can’t be broken.
Carter’s role in the spinoff makes perfect sense. As Deadline hinted last year, this new chapter will stay in the present-day Yellowstone timeline so fans witness a continuation of the show they’ve already become fond of. And who better to add to the mix than a character who’s been shaped by Beth and Rip himself?
If you weren’t already aware of Finn Little’s resume, let us reassure that he’s basically a seasoned pro who has been building quite the reputation. He starred opposite Nicolas Cafe in The Surfer (2024), worked alongside Angelina Jolie in Taylor Sheridan’s Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021), and has taken on intense roles in Netflix’s Reckoning and Tidelands. But for Yellowstone fans, he’ll always be the cowboy kid who found a family in the most unlikely of places.
