Yellowstone Spin-Off Featuring Beth and Rip Casts Star from Netflix’s ‘American Primeval md06

The much-awaited Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) Yellowstone spin-off is taking shape following the recent cast announcements. The series, titled The Dutton Ranch, continues to build its universe with the addition of new characters. A new report reveals that Jai Courtney has been added to the cast, playing a character named Rob-Will. He is described as “an imposing, unpredictable ranch foreman.” Courtney is the third new cast member, joining Ed Harris and Annette Bening. Yellowstone vets Reilly and Hauser return, reuniting with Finn Little, who plays their adopted son, Carter. The Dutton Ranch‘s logline reads:

Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.

Courtney is an accomplished actor in television and film, known for playing imposing action-oriented characters. From the MCU to Netflix, his credits demonstrate a wide range. He’s possibly best known for playing Captain Boomerang in The Suicide Squad. On television, he broke through on the Starz hit series, Spartacus, playing Varro. Courtney has had roles in shows like Stateless, Kaleidoscope, The Terminal List, and recently on American Primeval and Dangerous Animals. Apart from The Dutton Ranch, he will be seen in Beef, The Fox, and War Machine, among others.

What Happens to the Other Dutton Sibling?

The Dutton saga concluded last year when the series finale for Yellowstone aired, leaving only two Dutton children alive. With The Dutton Ranch set to follow Beth, the youngest Dutton sibling, Kacey (Luke Grimes), has not been left out in the cold. The character has also gotten his own spin-off titled Y: Marshals.

“With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence,” reads the show’s official logline. In the new procedural, Kayce will try to balance his new job while raising a family. Franchise mastermind Taylor Sheridan returns to executive produce both shows. Y: Marshals premieres on CBS midseason and will air on Sundays.
