Skinny jeans are out, major bell bottom action is in! Sorry, Lainey Wilson’s orders.
The country singer is making big waves on stage and on screen. It’s been quite the year for the 30-year-old who had an emotional night at this year’s CMA Awards after winning two awards and earning a starring role in the latest season of Yellowstone.
With a career that’s full speed ahead, one thing about Lainey is that she’s got one of the most unique styles in country music and she’s not showing signs of changing that anytime soon. Known to draw inspiration from the 70s, she’s not afraid to make bold fashion statements and her latest on-stage outfit is visual proof.
Lainey performed during the Wonderfront Music & Arts festival in California, and she brought her “bell bottom country” with her to the West Coast. The “Hillbilly Hippie” singer is really living out her song lyrics as she looked amazing in a blue, psychedelic button down paired with bold, printed bell bottom jeans. She accessorized with a tan hat, layered necklaces and warm-tinted sunglasses.
Seeing Lainey in bell bottom jeans is like seeing John Dutton in his wide brim hat — it’s something you can always count on. In an interview with Country Living, she admitted that when getting dressed in the morning she likes to “channel Dolly in the ’70s”. “I think she did a great job at creating a thing and leaning into as much as she could. Janis Joplin. Like you said Stevie Nicks. I like to combine all of that. I like to call it bell bottom country. It’s finding whatever it is about you that makes you, you or makes you unique and leaning into it as much as you possibly can.”
Of course, when one wears an outfit as cool as Lainey’s, you have to document it so the Yellowstone singer took to Instagram to share a quick video before hitting the stage.
The post was bombarded with fire emojis and sweet messages like, “Doesn’t get any cuter than Miss Lainey!!! 🔥🔥🔥” and “Dear Lainey – that ensemble is fabulous!!!”. Let’s just say that we couldn’t agree more!
