The curtains have closed on the beloved CBS comedy Young Sheldon, concluding with an hour-long series finale that featured George’s (Lance Barber) funeral as Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) prepared to move to Pasadena. With the show wrapping up, attention now shifts to the upcoming spin-off, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage. Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) will return as regulars, along with Mandy’s parents, Jim (Will Sasso) and Audrey McAllister (Rachel Bay Jones). This raises the question: who else from Young Sheldon might join the spin-off? Could the Cooper twins return?
Other cast members who could potentially return include Iain Armitage as Sheldon, Raegan Revord (Missy), Zoe Perry (Mary), and Annie Potts (Meemaw). In a conversation with TV Line, Armitage expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of returning, saying, “If I got a call to go back, that’d be so much fun. I’d be honored.” He added that he’s excited to watch the new series and praised the chemistry between Georgie and Mandy, noting, “Montana and Miss Emily are both so funny and so talented.”
Revord, on the other hand, is less certain about reprising her role as Missy. “I’m not sure,” she said. “Now that Young Sheldon is over, I’m excited to explore other opportunities, but I’ll definitely be cheering for Montana and Emily from the sidelines.”
As for the decision to create the Georgie and Mandy spin-off, executive producer Steve Holland explained that it stemmed from the strong on-screen chemistry between Emily and Montana. He noted, “Watching them spark together was exciting and felt like a natural progression.” While it seems unlikely that another Sheldon-focused spin-off will be developed, the cast is open to returning.
