Will the 911 midseason season 8, episode 8 finale set up arcs for the second half of the season?

The 911 midseason finale is here and we are hoping to see movement in some arcs for the 118. What can we expect to see from the Nov. 21 episode?
The fall midseason finale of 911 is already upon us. This season feels like it has been fast-paced from start to finish so we’re still in disbelief that the show is going on hiatus after the upcoming episode. What can we expect from the season 8, episode 8 midseason finale on Thursday, Nov. 21?

Originally, this episode was titled “Sob Stories” before it was eventually switched to “Wannabes.” While we’re not sure how the new title will fit in with the episode, we have some inclinations based on how the previous episode ended.

In the final scene, Bobby was talking to Buck, Hen, and Eddie, who had been watching a viral video of Bobby calling Brad out for his behavior towards a waitress. Bobby thought this meant he no longer had to deal with Brad, but it turns out not to be the case. Instead, Brad arrives and tells Bobby he spoke with the Chief and got the okay to shadow Bobby and his team.

It is very likely that Brad, who appears to have some sort of obsession with Bobby, could become jealous of his relationship with the team. While we don’t know for sure if the episode will end with something ominous occurring, we do have to wonder how long the show will play out the “Hotshots” storyline.

What do we hope to see from the 911 season 8 midseason finale?

Another aspect of the midseason finale that we know from the synopsis is that Athena will be on the case investigating the beating of a man who was discovered behind a grocery store. We’re looking forward to seeing if she will be on her own, or if she will in fact be with a new rookie as hinted previously.

The promo for “Wannabes” also showed the team attempting to escape car accident victims when their vehicle becomes submerged in water after hitting a pipe. From the looks of it, Buck and Eddie will be attempting to help them get out of the vehicle. Other than these plotlines, we don’t know much heading into the finale.

We are hoping they do provide us with some hints towards what will happen in 8B. For starters, it’s been a while since we got a clue about what is going on with Eddie’s relationship with his son, Christopher. There was hope that we would see more about what was happening with them in this season, but so far there has been no sign that he will come back soon. We hope the show begins to thread the pieces together for bringing Christopher home and allowing Eddie to heal that relationship.

Plus, we also know Buck is dealing with his break up and we want to see where he goes from here. Since the last episode showed that both Buck and Tommy seemingly missed each other at the same time, with Buck being drawn to his phone and baking to stop himself from calling his ex, to Tommy briefly writing a text to Buck before stopping, we’re hopeful to see what could come for Buck’s arc in the second half of the season.

We’re also excited to see Maddie and Chimney prepare to become a family of four and we hope Hen and Karen get a break from the angst for a bit! How the midseason finale sets up the arcs for all of these characters will be great to see and we are looking forward to speculating what will come next.
