Will Preacher get caught and what’s up with Lark? All the burning questions we have for Virgin River season 6
Virgin River season 5 is back with its final two episodes taking place during the magical holiday season! All the townspeople are preparing for the holidays by coming together to enjoy festive drinks and meals and participating in the very exciting town Christmas tree decorating contest. But for others, the holiday season proves to be a bit difficult when other life factors are at stake. Mel, for example, tries to locate her biological father, while Cameron gets a visit from his ex.
Now that the two holiday episodes are streaming on Netflix, we have to wait until Virgin River season 6 to find out what happens next. Don’t worry, we know the next season is definitely happening, though we might have to wait a while until it comes out. So while we wait for updates on the sixth installment of Virgin River, we’re breaking down all the biggest questions we need answered.
Will Preacher get caught for covering up Wes’ death?
Preacher has been walking on thin ice ever since covering up the death of Wes for Paige, but will it finally catch up to him in Virgin River season 6? It seems likely given the way the fifth season ends. At the end of the final holiday episode, Mike calls up Preacher and tells him that the police identified the body of Wes, so now they finally know he’s dead and that he was likely murdered. “This thing is about to blow up,” Mike tells Preacher. Uh oh.
Preacher looks very concerned after getting off the phone and Kaia asks if she can know what happened, but we don’t see if he explains everything to her or not before the episode ends. It’s difficult to say whether or not he’ll confide in Kaia given that he also wants to protect Paige. I could very well see Paige coming back in season 6 to own up to what happened. That would be the right move, anyway.
What is Lark hiding from Brady?
Brady moves on from Brie in Virgin River season 5 and starts a relationship with Lark, who he looks to be getting pretty serious with in the holiday episodes. But things aren’t as they seem, because the finale concludes with Lark getting a phone call from someone in prison. This person is Jimmy, Calvin’s former right-hand man. Jimmy and Brady have a history, and it’s not a good one.
Jimmy asks how “their little girl” is doing, meaning Lark’s daughter Hazel, signaling that Jimmy could be the father. He could also potentially be Lark’s father as he looks a lot older than her.
Jimmy then asks how Brady is doing, to which Lark says “he doesn’t suspect a thing.” Does this mean Lark has been playing Brady all along? It certainly seems that way right now. Brady doesn’t know a lot about Lark’s background that we know of, and he seems to be falling pretty quickly. This might spell disaster for Brady in the sixth season of Virgin River. There’s no doubt we’ll find out what’s going on with Lark and Jimmy then!
What does Everett have to tell Mel?
One of the biggest storylines in the holiday episodes is Mel trying to locate her biological dad. At the end of season 5 part 1, her sister Joey drops a bombshell on her by telling her she believes their mom had an affair, and that they are not full sisters. That means Mel’s dad is potentially out there without her knowing who he is. And the wildest part? He’s from Virgin River!
In the holiday episodes, Mel and Jack track down the man who was sending Mel’s mom love letters, and he turns out to be someone named Everett Reid. Although he denies being him at first, Everett comes to Mel and Jack’s home at the end of the season 5 finale to talk. He confirms he is Mel’s father and gives her notes from her mom. The episode ends after he says he needs to tell her something “important,” meaning this will probably be a big one.
We don’t get to find out what the reveal is, but we can’t wait to find out. It’s entirely possible there’s another twist coming; this is Virgin River after all!
Are Muriel and Cameron endgame?
A surprising relationship that blossoms in season 5 is between Muriel and Cameron. Despite their age gap, they quickly fall for one another and start a happy life together. But will they last? The holiday episodes present a potentially difficult situation for the two when Cameron’s ex comes to visit him in Virgin River. She wants to get back together, but Cameron doesn’t feel the same way. This leads to Muriel and Cameron having a conversation about their future.
Given Muriel’s age, she does not want to have children, and she makes that clear to Cameron. He says he’s okay with that, but Muriel isn’t convinced. She doesn’t want to take anything away from him and doesn’t want him to end up resenting her. She asks Cameron to think about what he wants out of life before they continue their relationship.
On one hand, I could completely see Cameron and Muriel ending up together. They have undeniable chemistry and are genuinely happy whenever they’re in the same room. But Muriel does have a point. Everyone should have the option to have children if that’s what they want, and Cameron needs to decide if Muriel not wanting them is a dealbreaker.
When will Mel and Jack get married?
A moment we fans are all waiting for is no doubt Mel and Jack’s wedding. We’ve been following their romance from the very first episode and can’t wait for them to take their next big step. Not much time has passed throughout the seasons of Virgin River, but these two have been through it all together already. We sincerely hope the sixth season sees the couple getting married in a wonderful ceremony surrounded by their loved ones.
Mel asks Doc to walk her down the aisle, and of course, he accepts, but will the reveal of who her biological dad is change that plan? Or is it still possible that her dad is someone else, someone like Doc? I’m sure the events of the start of season 6 will heavily impact Mel and Jack’s wedding. Fingers crossed they tie the knot by the end of the next installment!
