Is SEAL Team Canceled or Renewed for Season 8?
In November 2023, SEAL Team officially announced that it would end with a seventh season.
Paramount Plus confirmed that the series, which follows the fascinating lives of the BRAVO team, will not continue with SEAL Team Season 8. Additionally, a planned standalone film based on the show has also been canceled. Fans were disappointed, but it seems that the creators felt it was time to wrap up the storyline.
In an interview with TV Insider, David Boreanaz, who plays Jason Hayes, explained why the show is coming to an end. He said, “So when I started the season, I was like, okay, this is the perfect way to end that cycle for this character. For me, I knew it was the right way and I knew I was done before the writers’ strike. I had expressed my desire to not be on the show anymore. I was done regardless of whether they wanted to do two more seasons or one more season, I was done. So then the writers’ strike happened and six months later, that was decided. So we were able to put this final season in to help complete that cycle for him.”
The SEAL Team Season 7 finale left many fans wondering. Episode 10 hinted that Jason would be leaving the BRAVO team, accepting a new role as Head of Warrior Health at DEVGRU. However, in a surprising twist, Ray actually resigned, left Bravo, and took the position.
