The fourth season of the US remake of Ghosts is well underway, with the hit comedy continuing its upward trajectory in quality. After the UK original officially ended on Christmas Day in 2023, there has been a hilarious spiritual hole in the comedy landscape. However, that hole is set to be filled down under, with an Australian version of Ghosts officially announced back in September 2024. Produced by Paramount Australia and BBC Studios Production Australia, Ghosts Australia has finally had its biggest update yet, with filming officially underway in sunny Perth.
Greenlit for eight episodes in its opening season, news that the latest spin-off has officially begun filming is sure to send the millions of global Ghosts fans into a frenzy, especially considering the strong ensemble cast that is currently taking shape. Nowhere Boys‘ Tamala plays Kate, and Rowan Witt, of Book of Mormon fame, plays her partner, Season, with this the loving pair that will inherit the famous Ghost mansion. Mandy McElhinney is set to play Irish potato famine survivor Eileen, Brent Hill the naval officer Gideon, Ines English the early 20th century socialite Miranda, Michelle Brasier the 1980s aerobics instructor Lindy, George Zhao the Gold Rush-era Chinese miner Joon, and, rounding out the Aussie spirits, Jackson Tozer as the loveable motorbike gang member Satan. Speaking in a statement, Paramount Australia’s SVP, Content and Programming, Daniel Monaghan, said:
“Ghosts Australia boasts a stellar cast and an incredibly talented creative team. We can’t wait to bring this witty and heartfelt show to life, complete with our set of uniquely Australian ghosts.”
Trevor is In for a Shock in ‘Ghosts’ Season 4, Episode 19
Although it’s hard not to think about the exciting likelihood of another smash-hit Ghosts series, first, there is the small matter of the ongoing US version’s fourth season, with the upcoming Episode 19 looking like an unmissable outing. Titled “Pinky Returns,” the episode is set to feature a major reveal for Trevor (Asher Grodman), who is about to discover he has a long-lost daughter who is much closer to home than he could’ve ever realized. The synopsis for the episode reads, “When Trevor’s former co-worker, Pinkus, and his daughter, Abby, show up at Woodstone Mansion, Trevor gets the surprise of his afterlife.” You can catch Episode 19, “Pinky Returns,” live on CBS this Thursday, April 17, 2025, or you can stream it on Paramount+ the following day.
