CBS canceled Blue Bloods, and yet, the show continues to thrive months after its finale aired. The police procedural series originally premiered in 2010 and was an immediate hit. Its success was relentless, fueling its 14-season run on CBS. Unfortunately, though, the network decided to bring Blue Bloods to an end following 14 seasons and almost 300 episodes in December 2024.
Blue Bloods’ downfall was its production costs, which reportedly played a significant factor in CBS canceling the show. Although it continued to perform well in the ratings throughout its run, its budget was evidently too high for the network. As such, Blue Bloods released its series finale in late 2024, but it has taken on new life half a year later.
Blue Bloods Is Currently #4 On Paramount+’s Top 10 Most-Streamed TV Shows
The Show Is Trending Months After Its Finale
According to a report from Flix Patrol, Blue Bloods sits at number four on Paramount+’s list of Top 10 TV Shows on Monday, July 7, 2025. Only South Park, MobLand, and Yellowstone were placed higher. So, despite ending more than six months ago, the Tom Selleck TV show is rising in the ranks on its streaming service.
It’s rare for a TV series to gain traction on any platform following its finale. As a result, what Blue Bloods has been able to accomplish on Paramount+ is impressive, to say the least. Many believed that CBS canceling Blue Bloods was a mistake, and those fans are seemingly being proven right as the police procedural show is finding success on Paramount+.
Blue Bloods Continues To Gain A New Audience Even After Its Cancelation
Given that Blue Bloods ran for 14 years on CBS, most of its loyal audience tuned in to its finale in December 2024. The show’s longevity suggests that it already had all the viewership it was ever going to get on the broadcast network, and most of them likely aren’t reliving the glory days on Paramount+ almost seven months later.
One has to assume that Blue Bloods is pulling in a new audience on the streaming service, which is why it sits at number four on the list of Top 10 TV Shows on Paramount+ on July 7. A fresh set of eyeballs are watching the crime drama. This is a rare accomplishment that only proves how impactful Blue Bloods can be.
Perhaps CBS was wrong to cancel Blue Bloods all along. Its continued success showcases how it can be a significant source of revenue for the network. Nevertheless, Blue Bloods is over, but at least all of its episodes are still available to watch on Paramount+.
