Who’s the New Face in Y&R’s L.A. Noir Mystery? Another Player Steps Into the Shadows md23

The mystery surrounding Noah’s near-fatal car accident on Young and Restless may actually get a little closer to being solved as a new detective joins the case. CBS has announced that Catherine Kresge has been cast as Detective Annie Stewart, and she will make her debut in the episode airing on Thursday, November 20. This new Los Angeles storyline arc has already seen the additions of Tamara Braun (Sienna) and Matt Cohen (Detective Burrow) to the soap’s cast, with Lucas Adams (Noah) and Roger Howarth (Mitch) poised to make their debuts in the very near future.

The Korean-American Kresge was born on a military base (her father is a now-retired Army Lt. Col.) and received her BFA in Acting from the University of Arizona, where she also earned a BA in Political Science. The actress’s credits include films like Hello, My Name Is DorisR.I.P.D.Fantastic Four, and A Good Day to Die Hard. On the small screen, she has made appearances in television series like The O.C.That ‘70s ShowHouse90210S.W.A.T.NCIS: Hawai’iChicago Med, and 9-1-1: Lone Star. In addition, she has appeared in over 100 commercials for brands like AT&T, Xerox and Ponds.

Annie, Get Your Gun: Kresge will join Y&R in November as an LAPD detective.

Her role on Y&R will not actually mark Kresge’s daytime debut. Back in 2011, she appeared in a couple of episodes of All My Children as Sienna, Bianca’s date, who called off their evening together when she noticed the connection between Bianca and Marissa. More recently, in 2024, she played Dr. Sawyer on an episode of General Hospital. GH viewers might remember that character as the physician from Beecher’s Corners who met with Elizabeth and Finn as they were trying to figure out a way to get Finn cleared of the malpractice charge against him.

Detective Stewart is slated to appear in multiple episodes of Y&R as the LAPD continues to try and get to the bottom of Noah’s suspicious crash. Nick and Sharon have already flown from Genoa City to Los Angeles to be with their son as he recuperates from his injuries and learn what really happened to him. Unfortunately, Detective Burrow hasn’t been a whole lot of help. That guy is clearly shady, so perhaps Detective Stewart might be a little more help to the anxious Newman family and get them the answers they’re after.
