Chicago Fire is heading into season 14 with a shifting cast, meaning some familiar faces won’t be back.
The One Chicago franchise — which includes Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. — is no stranger to cast shakeups. Over the years, cast members have frequently joined and exited the series, often stirring buzz among fans.
Despite the changes, NBC exec Jeff Bader doesn’t seem worried about the impact on the shows. Speaking with TVLine in July 2024, he downplayed the disruption caused by the rotating cast.
“Actors move on and new ones step in,” Bader said. “It’s something that happens every season, and every year the same questions come up.” Still, he emphasized that the franchise continues to thrive. “These shows just keep going strong.”
He also confirmed NBC’s commitment to its current Wednesday lineup. “We’re really pleased with how the Chicago block performs. There are no plans to make any changes on that night.”
