After months of fan speculation, Virgin River finally revealed the identity of Mel’s father in the season 5 finale. Fans had plenty of guesses — some thought it could be Doc, others Bert the tow truck driver, or even Buck, Lilly’s late husband.
The truth? Mel’s dad is Everett Reid, a new character played by John Allen Nelson (24, Baywatch, Santa Barbara). With help from her sister Joey and Jack, Mel tracked down Everett, who initially pretended not to know her. By Christmas, he admitted the truth, apologized for his cold reception, and began forming a relationship with his daughter.
Finally, the mystery is solved — and Mel now has the chance to connect with her father.
