When does The Bachelorette start? Jenn’s filming begins far sooner than you think
The upcoming season of The Bachelorette, featuring Jenn Tran, will no doubt bring tons more drama to Bachelor Nation.
The Bachelor fans have mixed reactions to the ending of Joey Graziadei’s Season 28, but all of them are now wondering about The Bachelorette Season 21.
The newest star of The Bachelor or Bachelorette is usually someone who made it to the previous season’s top four, and that woman is usually announced at After the Final Rose.
Other data had suggested who from Joey’s season could also be the woman getting the coveted gig.
However, ABC shocked fans when they announced that one of Joey’s women, Jenn Tran, who he sent home in week seven, will helm the newest season.
Of course, fans took to social media to voice their opinions about the decision but the season is already in the works.
Speaking with ABC News after it was announced, Jenn said it hasn’t really “sunk in yet” that she’s starting her new chapter in Bachelor Nation.
“I’m honestly so excited for this opportunity,” she added. “I’m just so grateful.”
Jenn is already making history in Bachelor Nation, being the first Asian American to be a Bachelorette and she says it’s “incredibly” important to her.
“I’m inspiring a generation of young women, asian women, who maybe didn’t see themselves as the main character, didn’t see themselves being able to find love and now I’m able to represent that.”
The presenter on the news channel revealed that Jenn is “hitting the ground running” by starting filming for The Bachelorette this week.
Typically, the spin-off airs at some point during ABC’s mid-year schedule, with Seasons 4-15 airing in May of their respective years, Seasons 17 and 20 starting in June and Season 19 taking place in July.
The exceptions were Season 1-3, which all debuted in January, and Seasons 16 and 18, which started in October of their years. Season 16 was notably affected due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
While history has shown the show starting May, ABC did reveal plans to have the show air over the summer when it confirmed The Golden Bachelorette for the fall.
With the WGA and SAG strikes severely delaying seasons of scripted show content until 2024, it seems more likely ABC will find room in the schedule to accommodate The Bachelorette after the ordered episodes of shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Abbott Elementary and The Conners are finished.
ABC has also teased 28 men who could be the suitors on Jenn’s season–and one includes the founder of protein powder and nutrition supplement company Gainful.
Among the men revealed in a Facebook post, was a 28-year-old from New York City named Jahaan–who has quickly been revealed to be Jahaan Ansari.
Ansari and Eric Wu, who formed the company, which specializes in personalized nutrition an has earned more than $20 million in annual revenue since its founding, were both featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 for their success.
Others included 29-year-old Aaron from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who fans spotted was the brother of Bachelorette Season 16 alum Noah Erb, who became engaged to Abigail Heringer after meeting on Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise.
Additional men include Ricky, who is from Jenn’s own hometown of Miami, Florida, as well as two guys from Los Angeles, California, two from Houston, Texas and two from Denver, Colorado.
