When Does Chicago Fire Return? Why There’s No Episode on March 19

We’re going another Wednesday without a new episode of Chicago Fire tonight, Wednesday, March 19.

Eyes are on the One Chicago schedule. There isn’t a new episode of Chicago Fire on tonight, Wednesday, March 19, but there’s even worse news than that. There isn’t even a rerun on tonight.

At least last week, NBC treated us to a rerun of the three-way crossover event from January 2025. We got thrown into the drama of Firehouse 51 across the three-hour block. So, why aren’t we getting anything tonight? It’s not like the series has come to the end of another season.

NBC will air a live celebration tonight, Wednesday, March 19

The lack of a new episode is all thanks to Opry 100: A Live Celebration. The Grand Ole Opry turns 100 this year, and this is a chance to celebrate those who have had the opportunity to perform on the stage. Country fans will most defeinitely want to tune in.

The break also helps with the NBC schedule. NBC knows that it needs to air One Chicago reruns now and then to make sure there are another episodes to get to May finale week. The show also needs time to get ahead with filming and post-production to ensure there are enough episodes ready to go. We don’t need to deal with reruns when there is something else to air.

When will Chicago Fire return with new episodes?

There isn’t much longer left to wait for the show’s return. As promised, we’ll get new episodes of Chicago Fire on Wednesday, March 26. The episode is sure to pick up off the back of the devastating ending to the previous episode. Pascal’s wife, Monica, was a victim of a car accident and didn’t make it. Now Pascal will want answers and revenge, and that means blaming the other person involved in the accident.

Meanwhile, Firehouse 51 will need to figure out what to do to help their chief. They know why he’s struggling emotionally, and Pascal is a man who doesn’t talk about things. So, it’s not going to be easy to get him to take some time off and get the help that he needs to grieve.
