After an explosive season 21 finale rocked Grey Sloan Memorial, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans were left with more questions than answers. After back-to-back dramatic seasons, even “Grey’s Anatomy” star Camilla Luddington doesn’t know what’s next for the long-running ABC medical drama.

The update is shocking, especially after that explosive season 21 finale left fans (and doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial) reeling. In a recent interaction with E! News, the 41-year-old actress, who’s played Dr. Jo Wilson since season nine, confessed that she’s anxious to find out what will unfold next at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

“I tried to ask [showrunner Meg Marinis] anything basically because it’s a huge massive explosion, of course, last season, and I still have no idea.”

Fans, too, are on the edge of their seats, especially to learn the fate of Jo’s love interest, Link (Chris Carmack).

Following the second explosion at Grey Sloan, this one triggered by a disgruntled patient. And if Camilla herself doesn’t know what happens to her on-screen husband, the rest of the cast likely doesn’t either.

Camilla Luddington on Digging for ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spoilers

When it comes to digging Grey’s spoilers, Camilla is just like fans. In 2020, Camilla told E! News that she’s “nosy” when it comes to digging up future storylines. Camilla was one of the first to know about the jaw-dropping return of Patrick Dempsey’s McDreamy during season 17.

This was a cameo that left both Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and fans in tears. “I didn’t know that some actors didn’t know,” Camilla recalled of the surprise 2020 episode. “I thought we all knew, but I guess we didn’t.”

How Jo Wilson’s Heartbreak Could Shape Season 22

If Link doesn’t survive, it wouldn’t be Jo’s first brush with heartbreak. Fans still remember the moment her husband, Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), left her behind in season 16 to reunite with Izzie (Katherine Heigl). No one saw this twist that blindsided both Jo and longtime viewers.

“I think that Jo is making her way out of this heartbreak, and it’s a slow process,” Camilla said at the time. “I think that she’s trying to figure out what she needs.”

Why Camilla Luddington Is Excited to Play a Single Jo Wilson

Camilla—who shares two children, Hayden, 8, and Lucas, 4, with husband Matthew Alan. She said that Jo’s romance with Link feels like a better fit for her character. Yet, she’s equally excited to see Jo stand on her own two feet.

“I’m excited as an actress to play her in this new life of being a single girl,” she shared. “What does Jo Wilson look like single? What does she look like, maybe dating around? I want to see that and I’m excited to play that.”

Whatever comes next for Link and Jo, one thing’s certain — Grey’s Anatomy still has no shortage of twists, turns, and beloved characters to keep fans coming back for more.
