During the season 4 finale, “The Devil Went Down To Woodstone” of Ghosts, which aired on May 8, a relationship blooms between Pete and Alberta. It’s like mixing the spice with the sweet, as these two spirits have opposite personalities and past lifestyles.
That’s the beauty of the Pete-Alberta relationship, and the old saying, “Opposites attract,” truly defines this interesting couple. However, they do have at least one thing in common: finding love again after their previous partners either crossed over or ended in a bad break-up. Even in the spirit world and behind the walls of Woodstone Manor, the connections are chased after.
Toward the end of the finale, when everyone else was prepping for Isaac’s book launch, Alberta and Peter shared a passionate kiss, igniting their newfound passion. The chemistry was already brewing, so the emotions weren’t non-existent, and the foreshadowing was on point leading up to the moment.
With Ghosts being renewed for season 5 (and 6!) Pete and Alberta will continue to explore their newfound feelings and see where they will lead. The Girl Scout leader and the Prohibition-Era jazz singer are the second couple to come in the fourth season, following Sasappis and Joan.
As the writers and cast are heading into production, one of the Ghosts stars revealed what’s to come for Pete and Alberta. Fans are dying for more of their dynamics and crafted shenanigans.
While speaking with TVLine on the Red Carpet for CBS Fest 2025 in mid-May, Danielle Pinnock gave the scoop on Alberta’s love for Pete and vice versa. She also covered that discovering a character’s truth and learning more about them is through relationships.
“Our [Ghosts] showrunners, Joe Porter [and] Joe Wiseman said, ‘You really find out [the] most about a character is when they’re in a relationship,” Pinnock says. “I think in [the Pete and Alberta] relationship, we’re really going to dive deep into these characters. Get some secrets.”
Pinnock also divulged that Pete (whom she called a “nice guy”) and Alberta will learn more about each other as their relationship continues to flourish.
“I think it’s going to be the nice guy thing, because it’s one thing to be with someone nice, but it is also a learning curve. I think [Alberta’s] an Alpha woman, and I think they may get run into some issues with her bossing Pete around a bit. Pete is a changed man as well, and he’s going to get her together.”
As far as those ‘secrets’ are concerned, anything is possible in the Ghosts‘ lore. One element I’d like to see is the characters’ childhood backgrounds. This narrative hasn’t been utilized much during the tenure and can offer further details about certain adulthood arcs, including relationships. We might even be gifted with more of the “why” of how the characters behave in their romantic pursuits throughout their past childhood.
Ghosts is set to return this fall on CBS for season 5. In the meantime, you can catch up with seasons 1-4 on Paramount+.
