We Know Which ‘Tracker’ Episode Melissa Roxburgh Will Star In
According to star Justin Hartley’s Instagram post, Tracker has found Dory in Manifest’s Melissa Roxburgh. She’ll be playing a character who hasn’t been seen or heard from since the first episode. TV Line has confirmed that fans will get to meet Dory when Roxburgh guest-stars on May 5 in an episode titled “Beyond the Campus Walls.” Here’s the official synopsis for the episode: When a graduate student goes missing after a house party, his friends and family believe he’s succumbed to the pressures of a research grant. But after consulting with his sister, Dr. Dory Shaw—a professor at the school—Colter discovers a series of sensitive photos and texts that lead him to uncover a dangerous (and deadly) conspiracy on campus.

The episode teases a classic Tracker hour as Colter works to find a missing person. The cases he solves often have a personal connection; in this episode, it’s his sister. We learn that Dory is not only alive and well, but she’s also academically successful and a professor. The episode explores why she hasn’t been seen or heard from in so long despite seemingly being fine. Did she cut ties with her family so she could focus on building her life without their burdens? How does it affect her and her family when one child doesn’t stay in one place long enough to put down roots, another they all avoid like the plague, and the last child stays away from the family? Hartley teased to TV Line in February that they intentionally kept Dory out of the viewer’s line of sight, saying, “We had to address that. When it happens, it’s going to make a lot of sense… [but] you won’t see her at the beginning of Season 1. I can tell you that.”
CBS has renewed Tracker for a second season. The pilot debuted with 18.9 million viewers, and even though live viewership numbers have dipped a bit in subsequent weeks, the show has continued to perform well week after week. The latest episode was watched by 8.6 million viewers, up significantly from the 6 million who tuned in to the second episode.

In next week’s episode, titled “Aurora,” Colter helps a widow find her only daughter, who went missing three years ago and was presumed dead. Colter finds himself in the world of ghost hunting and paranormal activity when the girl’s father sees a county fair photo in a newspaper and believes it is his daughter.
