The Watson season 2 cast is growing, as we all get ready for a fall premiere. Something that will be exciting to NCIS: Hawai’i fans is learning that one of the cast members has landed a new role in the medical detective series.
Oh yes, I’m so ready to see the NCIS: Hawai’i cast in other roles. Granted, I would much prefer a fourth season, especially to wrap up some storylines, but at least I get to watch the actors and see that they’ve landed on their feet. For Noah Mills, it’s a chance to step away from a role he’s almost threatened to be typecast in.
Noah Mills joins Watson season 2
Deadline reports that the NCIS: Hawai’i star is joining Watson season 2 in a recurring guest role. He’ll play Beck Wythe, a man who has blown up his career in Silicon Valley thanks to reckless behavior, and now he’s moved back to his hometown of Pittsburgh.
He’ll have a direct connection to Ingrid Derian (Eve Harlow) after meeting her in a group therapy session for those managing Cluster B personality disorders. Does he think he needs to join that group, or is he someone taking advantage of people there? Whatever it is, the two end up forming a bond, but this could end up being a dangerous indulgence, and not just for him. We know how reckless Ingrid can be as well!
It’s not clear just how many episodes he’ll be in, but as a recurring guest role, it’s going to be at least two. Considering his connection to Ingrid, we’ll likely see him in a handful of episodes until his ulterior motives are figured out.

The NCIS: Hawai’i star breaks away from former roles
Mills is certainly taking on a character that is nothing like the roles he’s had before. We all know him as Agent Jesse Boone in NCIS: Hawai’i, but he has also taken on cop-like roles in NBC’s The Brave and The Enemy Within. Granted, in The Brave, he played a medic, but it was in high-conflict zones to save lives and his character, Joseph McGuire, did have skills in mixed martial arts.
Even when he’s not played someone in law enforcement, he’s been on the side of good. He gets to step outside of the box with his Watson role, taking on one with questionable morals. Many actors love to take on something different, and this is sure to be fun for Mills—and for us, as we continue to support the NCIS: Hawai’i stars in their latest projects.
Watson season 2 premieres on Monday, Oct. 13 at 10/9c on CBS.
