Virgin River’s Kandyse McClure hints at wedding chaos for Mel and Jack in season 6

Virgin River actress Kandyse McClure has teased that Mel and Jack’s wedding could be thrown into chaos in season 6

Kandyse McClure, who stars in the popular Netflix series Virgin River, has teased potential drama for Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) ahead of their wedding in the much-anticipated sixth season.

Fans of the charming small-town drama can look forward to the continuation of the story this December, after a dramatic fifth season and two suspenseful Christmas specials.

The festive period this year will be celebrated with new episodes of Virgin River, set to drop on December 19, leading up to the beloved couple’s magical wedding day.

“It’s beautiful,” McClure, who portrays Kaia Bryant, revealed in an exclusive chat with Screen Time regarding the upcoming nuptials.

However, as is typical for Virgin River, Mel and Jack’s journey to wedded bliss might face some turbulence, with potential hitches hinted at for their big day, reports the Daily Record.

McClure warned: “I guess I’ll say this… the plan is beautiful. It’s a beautiful idea. But… we’ll see.”

Despite being pressed for further details on what disruptions might occur, McClure kept her cards close to her chest.

“It may or may not happen,” she enigmatically stated.

The upcoming season will also feature Mel’s bachelorette party, glimpsed in the recent season six trailer.

Confirming Kaia’s participation in the event, McClure mentioned that having formed a tight group with characters such as Jack’s sister Brie Sheridan (Zibby Allen) and Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale), audiences should brace for some entertaining moments.

“You see us on stage, we’re singing together. Let’s just say it was a wild day and night,” McClure revealed with a touch of thrill.

The actress recounted her time on set, “You want to get into it as much as possible because it makes it easier. We actually filmed at this incredible bar that I had been to before a few times, because I do live in Vancouver.”

She reminisced about personal experiences related to the venue, saying, “I was like, ‘I’ve had a few nights in this bar that I can probably call on right now’.”

McClure then hinted at what audiences can anticipate, assuring them there will be plenty of unexpected twists, “Absolutely. There’s a couple,” she confirmed. Delving further, she commented, “Now that I’m thinking about it there are a few, in fact.”

Focusing on character progression in the forthcoming episodes, McClure noted, “I think you’re going to see a different side of people we think we really know. And a kind of deepening of that understanding of who those people really are.

“There’s a couple ones that took my breath away when I was listening in. There’s some really powerful performances coming up this season.”

Season six of the show continues to follow Kaia’s whirlwind relationship with Preacher (Colin Lawrence) after an unexpected confession of love, leaving fans on tenterhooks. McClure tactfully sidestepped giving away any spoilers but hinted at high emotional drama, urging viewers to tune in to the forthcoming season to find out if Kaia returns Preacher’s affections.
