Virgin River: The Character That Completely Ruined the Netflix Series According to Fans

Virgin River premiered its 5th season on Netflix, quickly becoming one of the most-watched shows on the streaming platform. This success gave the series a new boost for a 6th season renewal, which will have to answer the new questions left hanging for fans after the fifth installment.

With so many intriguing stories and captivating mysteries over 5 seasons, the show has easily become one of Netflix’s most popular series. The first season premiered in 2019, and since then, fans have been hooked on the world of Virgin River with all its characters.

While the show has many characters with their own agendas, it’s natural for viewers to like some more than others, and they’ll definitely find someone to hate. Many might say that the one character who received all the audience’s hate was Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), the eternally pregnant one.

However, Hope McCrea (Annette O’Toole) has quietly slipped into that list of hated characters that all actors fear. For Virgin River viewers, her character always seemed a bit annoying due to all the gossip she dragged the town into and how unpleasant she was.

But while Hope, who is Doc’s (Tim Matheson) wife in the storyline, acted like a fool from the start of the show, it was in season 4 of Virgin River when, according to fans, she became totally unbearable. And that’s because the writers gifted her another annoying personality trait and also made her whiny.

Virgin River fans even think the writers might be playing with them by creating a character as horrible as Hope. Because a person who is at that level of being unpleasant and self-centered should definitely be a joke, even in a show as far from realistic as this romantic drama on Netflix. Many were glad Hope had an accident in the third installment because that meant she might leave the drama. Unfortunately for them, this didn’t happen.
