My Secret Santa — the new festive rom-com led by Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge — has officially climbed to the No. 1 spot on Netflix worldwide. The film follows Taylor, a single mom who takes a job playing Santa at a cozy mountain resort, only to spark an unexpected romance with the resort’s charming manager. The movie also features Ryan Eggold and Tia Mowry.
Breckenridge, known for This Is Us and her beloved role as Mel in Virgin River, is proving to be a holiday hit as she awaits her return in Virgin River season 7.
According to FlixPatrol, My Secret Santa is currently outperforming major global titles like Jay Kelly, Troll 2, and The Rats: A Witcher Story. It also tops the U.S. charts, ahead of KPop Demon Hunters and Rio.
Though the movie leans into classic rom-com clichés, critics note that Breckenridge “shines” and adds heart to the film — helping turn it into a fast December success following its release on December 3.
With Netflix rolling out multiple holiday films this season, My Secret Santa stands out as the streamer’s biggest festive favorite so far.
