‘Virgin River’ Star Teases “More Laughs” and “More Tears” as Season 7 Wraps Filming

It’s official: Virgin River Season 7 is in the can—and promises to be the most emotional chapter yet.

As the summer sun rises over the fictional town of Virgin River, the cast of Netflix’s beloved drama is bidding farewell (for now) to filming. Several stars took to social media to celebrate the milestone, including Colin Lawrence, who’s portrayed fan-favorite John “Preacher” Middleton since the very beginning.

“That’s a wrap on Season 7 for Preacher!”

In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, Lawrence reflected on the journey:
“Another stellar season, in my humble opinion. This show has been the most fun to work on. I’ve been so blessed to be a part of this for the last seven seasons.”

And though production is now complete, Lawrence isn’t ready to say goodbye.
“Fingers crossed, more to come,” he teased.

Even more exciting? His hint at what’s to come:
“There’s more laughs, there’s more tears, there’s just a lot of emotion, and I really can’t wait to share it with you.”

Cast Celebrations and Behind-the-Scenes Moments

Lawrence wasn’t the only cast member marking the end of filming.
Benjamin Hollingsworth (Brady), Annette O’Toole (Hope), and Zibby Allen (Brie) also shared tributes and photos from set. Allen’s carousel post on Instagram even included Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson, who return as newlyweds Mel and Jack Sheridan in Season 7.

It’s a fitting sendoff for a show that continues to capture hearts with its emotional depth, community-driven stories, and breathtaking scenery.

Season 7: What’s Ahead?

Season 7 picks up directly after the jaw-dropping Season 6 finale, with no time jump. Expect immediate fallout as Doc’s medical practice comes under scrutiny following the suspension of his license.

New Faces, New Trouble:

  • Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) joins as Victoria, a former cop turned state medical board investigator. After surviving a gunshot wound in the line of duty, Victoria now turns her sharp eye to Doc’s clinic.

  • Cody Kearsley (Riverdale) plays Clay, a rugged rodeo rider in search of his long-lost sister—his arrival promises to shake things up in Virgin River.

Of course, fan-favorite relationships will continue to evolve.
Will Brie choose Mike or Brady?
Can Mel and Jack finally find peace in their parenthood journey?
And what exactly happened to Charmaine, whose storyline ended on a chilling cliffhanger?

So When Will Season 7 Premiere?

Netflix hasn’t revealed an official release date just yet. But with filming now wrapped, and past seasons premiering in late fall or early winter, a late 2025 drop is looking likely.

Lawrence kept things light but sincere as he signed off:
“Be kind to each other… and yeah, thanks for tuning in.”

And just like that, the wait begins. Virgin River Season 7 is coming—and it’s bringing all the feels.
