Virgin River star shares hilarious reason she held up season 6 production
It was only a brief pause!
Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge has shared why production was halted for the sixth season, though it might not be for what you expect.
The Netflix show is due to return in the next few months with its sixth season, though production has stalled numerous times for various reasons.
The latest such obstacle, however, is rather on the peculiar side, with Breckenridge – who plays Mel Monroe – being locked inside the chicken coop at her own home.
“I got locked in the coop today. I yelled and yelled for help. Now we know I can’t be heard from in our house. 😂” she wrote on Instagram. “I was even late for my very last session of ADR for Virgin River season 6 due to the debacle.”
The post also included a video of Breckenridge’s husband, Casey, videoing the actor as he discovered her inside the coop, with the star remarking: “I went to clear the water out because the chickens make the water dirty.
“Then the gate closed behind me. I was yelling for you [Casey] – and you know what, I even yelled at a man who was going by on his golf cart, and he didn’t stop! He didn’t even look at me and I was yelling at him. What is wrong with people? Who is that person? What a jerk.”
“Thank you,” she added as she was finally let out, with the actor explaining to her son how she managed to get herself locked in. The family decided they needed to install a mechanism on the inside to get themselves out, with Breckenridge saying it was a priority.
While Breckenridge delayed production only momentarily, it’s still full steam-ahead as her co-star Martin Henderson – who plays Jack Sheridan – recently offered a glimpse of the upcoming season, with the star sharing a selfie as he was working in the recording booth.
Virgin River seasons 1-5 are streaming now on Netflix.
