Virgin River favorite Martin Henderson, known for playing Jack Sheridan, has once again taken to Instagram to warn fans about a growing impersonation scam that continues to target his followers. The New Zealand–born actor has battled fake accounts for years, but says the problem is only escalating.
Ahead of the highly anticipated seventh season of Virgin River, Henderson shared a video with an important message:
“Hey guys, hope y’all are doing well. Bummer to have to keep reminding people of this, but please know that I do not communicate with anyone outside of THIS Instagram account.”
The actor stressed that any other profile claiming to be him—on any platform—is fraudulent.
“If you or anyone you know is being contacted by any other account… it is a scam. Please be careful.”
“It’s not me. I’m not asking for money.”
Henderson revealed he receives a steady stream of messages from fans approached by imposters pretending to be him.
“I feel like this is the only thing I post anymore,” he said, admitting he’s frustrated that con artists continue to prey on viewers.
He also reassured fans that he is completely fine:
“I’m not reaching out to anybody, I’m not asking for any money. I’m totally fine, I’m not in hospital. I don’t need help.”
Alexandra Breckenridge Reacts
His Virgin River co-star Alexandra Breckenridge expressed shock in the comments section, writing:
“I can’t believe this is still happening.”
One fan echoed her disbelief, adding:
“I report several a week. Most get taken down, but they just keep coming.”
A Previous Scam Cost a Fan $375,000
This warning comes in the shadow of a devastating case earlier in 2025, when a woman was scammed out of $375,000 (£275,000) by someone posing as Henderson.
The victim communicated with the impersonator for two years, sharing intimate details of her life and even relocating to New Zealand, believing she was starting a future with the actor.
Her doubts emerged only when a friend showed her a news story featuring the real Martin Henderson attending a bike rally in New Zealand—the same day the scammer claimed he was hospitalized in South Africa.
The scam began on a Virgin River fan page, where a person pretending to be Henderson’s “agent” claimed the actor appreciated her comments and wanted to connect.
Even after Henderson publicly warned fans about impersonators, the scammer convinced the woman that his alerts were directed at others—not her.

Virgin River Season 7 Arrives Soon
As excitement builds for the next chapter in Virgin River, Henderson hopes fans remain vigilant and verify any online communication.
“If you’re being contacted, please know it is not true.”
