‘Virgin River’ Star Just Dropped the Season 7 Update Fans Have Been Dying to Hear md14

The wait for Virgin River Season 7 has felt long—especially after Netflix confirmed the new season wouldn’t arrive until 2026—but fans finally have some hopeful news.

Ben Hollingsworth, who plays Dan Brady on the beloved small-town drama, may have accidentally (or very intentionally!) revealed that Season 7 is slated to begin streaming in March 2026. While he didn’t provide a specific premiere date, the timing alone is enough to get viewers buzzing—especially since Season 6 wrapped back on December 19, 2024.

A March release means fans are looking at a little over a year between seasons, but at least now the countdown can officially begin.

Hollingsworth shared the update during a FOX5 New York interview promoting his upcoming holiday film The Christmas Ring, co-starring Jana Kramer. After the anchor mentioned March as the release month, Hollingsworth confirmed the detail while also celebrating the show’s historic Season 8 renewal, announced just after Season 7 wrapped production.

Reflecting on his long run as Brady, he admitted the reality of starring on “the longest-running show on the largest streaming platform in the world” still feels “surreal” and “such a blessing.”

“I love my character,” he said. “I have such an attachment to Brady. I fight for him. Everything bad happens to this guy… if he had an address, it would be between a rock and a hard place. You just can’t catch a break.” He added that he’s always hoping the writers will throw Brady a little happiness now and then.

So what’s next for Brady in Season 7?
Not surprisingly, the new season picks up directly where things left off. Brady has once again hit rock bottom—his bank account has been wiped clean by Lark, who was secretly working with Jimmy the whole time. On top of that, his “true, real love” Brie is now engaged to Mike, after an impulsive proposal complete with a bottle-cap ring.

“It’s a lot of cliffhangers,” Hollingsworth teased. “He’s going to hunt down that money and find his ex-girlfriend, and he’s also going to navigate whether he can get back with Brie.” His comments offer fans a glimmer of hope that a Brady–Brie reunion might not be off the table.

As for the pushed-back premiere date, Alexandra Breckenridge (Mel) offered some insight, suggesting the delay was a strategic Netflix decision.

“With Stranger Things ending, that finale is going to be a big deal,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “If I were guessing, I wouldn’t roll out Virgin River until the new year.”

And she may be right—Netflix likely wants its longest-running series to shine without competing against one of its biggest franchises.

In the meantime, Hollingsworth’s holiday film The Christmas Ring is now in theaters, giving fans something festive to enjoy while they wait for Virgin River to return.
