Virgin River star hints ‘disaster’ at Jack and Mel’s wedding with ominous warning
A major Virgin River star has hinted the long-awaited wedding of Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan might not go according to plan
Virgin River star Kandyse McClure has teased wedding chaos for Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) in the highly anticipated sixth season.
Netflix’s smash-hit small-town drama will finally continue the story this December following a whirlwind fifth season and two jaw-dropping Christmas specials.
It’ll be another very Virgin River Christmas this year as new episodes are dropping on December 19, focusing on the run-up to the central couple’s magical tying of the knot.
“It’s beautiful,” Kaia Bryant actress McClure revealed about the wedding in an exclusive chat with Screen Time.
Unfortunately, nothing ever goes quite to plan in Virgin River and the beloved couple could hit some major snags once the big day actually gets underway.
McClure warned: “I guess I’ll say this… the plan is beautiful. It’s a beautiful idea. But… we’ll see.”
However, when pressed if something unexpected could throw a spanner in the works, McClure kept her lips sealed.
“It may or may not happen,” she finally added cryptically.
Part of the plan will involve Mel’s bachelorette party, which fans got a tiny glimpse of in the recent season six trailer.
McClure confirmed Kaia will be letting loose for the special occasion after building a community of girlfriends with the likes of Jack’s sister Brie Sheridan (Zibby Allen) and Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale).
“You see us on stage, we’re singing together. Let’s just say it was a wild day and night,” she teased.
“You want to get into it as much as possible because it makes it easier. We actually filmed at this incredible bar that I had been to before a few times, because I do live in Vancouver.
“I was like, ‘I’ve had a few nights in this bar that I can probably call on right now’.”
She also promised there will be plenty of jaw-dropping moments to come that will keep the fans on their toes.
“Absolutely. There’s a couple,” McClure confirmed. “Now that I’m thinking about it there are a few, in fact.
“I think you’re going to see a different side of people we think we really know. And a kind of deepening of that understanding of who those people really are.
“There’s a couple ones that took my breath away when I was listening in. There’s some really powerful performances coming up this season.”
Season six will be checking in on Kaia and her romance with Preacher (Colin Lawrence) after he accidentally lets slip an “I love you” and gets a slightly awkward response in return.
Fans will have to tune in to find out where Kaia’s head is at following the bombshell as McClure couldn’t confirm whether or not the feeling will be reciprocated next season.
