The first look of the upcoming season of the romantic drama sees the characters of Jack and Mel finally get to their happy ending with a wedding. But that doesn’t mean the town (and the show) is down with love triangles. Check out the first teaser of Virgin River Season 6.
It’s time to save the date for Virgin River. The sixth season of the Netflix romance series is back on December 19, as Martin Henderson’s Jack and Alexandra Breckenridge’s Mel are finally on the same page as they are about to say ‘I do’ to one another. Prepare for domestic bliss and scenes of pre-wedding planning, the bachelor and bachelorette parties in the episodes ahead.

The first visuals of the upcoming show rewind back to Jack’s proposal to Mel and also include the couple’s most memorable moments of the last few seasons. Audiences even get the teases of their wedding journey with Jack getting a fitting for his tux, a glimpse of Mel’s beautiful wedding dress, and of course, Mel’s getting reading for her bachelorette party.
The new season, which begins a few months after the holiday episodes last season, is not just about Mel and Jack’s wedding. The residents of Virgin River will have more complicated love triangles, and the show is going to explore Mel’s father’s secret past. Viewers will be taken back to the 1970s to see younger versions of Mel’s parents. Virgin River will also tell us more about Mel’s biological father, Everett (John Allen Nelson), and Colin Lawrence’s Preacher stands trial in the death of Wes, played by Steve Bacic.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith on Mel and Jack’s future
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith shared that the couple has grown closer since Mel’s miscarriage. He said, “She and Jack do end up in a happy and accepting place by the end. To be able to look forward to say their happiness might not be what they thought it was going to look like, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be happy again together in a different way.”
